I hesitate to announce this here for a few reasons: because I haven’t been around much lately, because the book probably will appeal only to Dante freaks like me or to people who enjoy medieval thought, and because it costs a lot.
On the other hand, the three long poems in the book were all workshopped at the Sphere. Which in fact was a huge help.
So here goes: My annotated edition of Dante's
Convivio is due out in August, as announced
here.
Supposedly the price is for making back the publisher’s expenses and because the book is bulky at 750 pages. Plus the hard cover etc. I do wish it cost less. There’s a 20% discount for pre-orders, as explained at
this web page.
Since it’s a lot for any individual to spend, perhaps you can convince your local librarian that their stacks can’t live without it.
