That's wonderful, Richard. The Frost Farm Prize in 2012, and now this. You're becoming a frequent flyer just on poetry awards.

Congratulations, Richard!!! I'm so happy for you, so well deserved. And it's indeed a wonderful prize to have won. Where else can you get a piece of music (and their taste is impeccable) inspired by your poetry? Lovely news!

Kudos, Richard! Make sure you let everyone know the details about Sept. 20! I wonder who the composer will be.

Thank you, comrades in the craft. Thank you all. I'm delighted beyond measure to have received this award. I've never been to New York, and how wonderful that it's a poem taking me there.
The link Sharon provided, and the one I placed in my initial post, will take you to a String Poet website page with more information. David Yezzi was the final judge of the poetry submissions, and Judith Shatin is the musical composer who will create a piece inspired by the poem. Her résumé is most impressive. This musical element of the award is unique and marvelous, and I'm eager to hear the musical impression my poem inspired.

Great news! Congratulations, Richard! I'm looking forward to hearing, even if only from afar, the poem and the music it inspires.

The awards ceremony was last night. I was there to hear Richard read his award-winning poem, and it was a real treat. Definitely a poem that deserved to win a prize. I was impressed. Here's a picture of Richard accepting his award certificate from Annabelle Moseley (click on it to see it larger):

Thanks, Roger. What a terrific photo. It comes up on my screen resembling an oil painting and that gives it a special übercharm.
Thanks also to Sharon for reposting the link to the music. Thanks Annabelle for arranging the event.
Again, big congrats Richard. What laurel wreath will crown him next?
