Default John Whitworth

I have a poem 'Going Out' in the October Issue of 'First Things', and four poems, 'Morlocks', 'Talking to Dead People', 'Little Chris in the Garden' and 'The Woes of Ganymede', in 'Quadrant', which last is the rudest thing I have ever published, even the great Les Murray remarked on it.

How on earth did you persuade First Things to take Ganymede?

Editing: Common sense prevailed and a more careful appreciation of the placement of commas makes me understand that the last four poems were in a different journal, though you do not say which. Your reference to Les gives me reason to guess at Quadrant. Am I right?

Because it made him laugh. I hope it makes you laugh too.

It is 'Quadrant' I have put it in. Thank you, Ann.

Here's a link to "Going Out": https://www.firstthings.com/article/2017/11/going-out
It's a great one, John. Kudos on all your publications.

John, if I were you, I'd move "in Quadrant" up a bit, to the point immediately after "poems" and before the following comma. As it stands, you do the journal a rather surprising disservice.
