A most encouraging comment for anyone who has submitted to the contest in the past and for other previous winners.

I also hope there's a repeat winner.

Absolutely, Roger. I'm rooting for someone who can take something archaic and make it wittily modern, and if not that person, then someone who was a finalist three or four times in past years.

I was happy with my finalist placement two years ago for my parody of Millay's "Renascence". A lot depends on the final judge. I have three for this year. We'll see . . .

Cathy, is one of them a parody of Frost's "After Apple Picking"?

Is there any way to see any of the past finalists' poems other than buying back issues? Alternatively does anyone know which is the most recent issue with winners in it? I see the 2014 issue's contents lists parody winners, but I'm guessing there was a more recent one than that.

Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone ever win or place with a metrical version of a free verse poem. It seems like a bit of handicap.

Thanks, Matt

I hope this year's judge will read all, or at least most, of the entries.
That would be a nice reputation for this contest to cultivate.
