Wow! I'm a big fan of Ranjit Bolt's translations. I had no idea he was local. I guess his story explains why I haven't seen any new ones in a while.

That's interesting, Mary, as the newspaper story doesn't mention translations. 130 pages sounds like a substantial bedside book for dipping into. (How many limericks per page, I wonder?) I think he's right that they don't have to be blue to be entertaining, and he's certainly done it the hard way, so glad it's paid off.

Most of Bolt's plays were translations, often in fantastic verse. Wonderful Pierre Corneille versions back when he was apparently a teenager.
