Default Stanley Kunitz interview

I just watched this interview of Stanley Kunitz, with Gregory Orr, done in the 1990s. Kunitz reads several of his poems and shares his insights on poetry and more, and Orr is a fabulous interviewer. Is Stanley Kunitz wonderful, or what?

I just realized I meant to post this on the Discerning Eye. If a Mod wants to move it there, that would be great.

I just moved it, Andrew.

"Poetry is most deeply concerned with telling us what it feels like to be alive, to be a human being on this earth."

Also:

"The home and workplace domestic heroism deserves as much attention in the poetic imagination as heroism in wars and other such adventures."

A big YES to both of those quotes!! Thanks for posting, Andrew. Enjoyed.

Both those quotations stood out for me too, Mary.

Thanks for posting this, Andrew! Stanley Kunitz is a treasure. It's a joy to hear him read his poems, and to hear his wise and well-thought-out ideas on the subject. How vital poetry really is!
