Reviews are a good thing, and they don't have to be long or by an expert, in my opinion. I like knowing how a passing or average reader responds, and sometimes I even find those more persuasive.

Julie--

That's louwbre. Send me a list of the typographical infelicities you noticed, though.

Cathy--

Lord Voldemort aside, reviews on Amazon and Goodreads do matter, and the notes in the book are either enlightening, f%&king funny, or both.

Rick--

Your review was louwbre as well.

Marybeth--

Salmon's loss was Barefoot Muse's gain. Google up "Colm Keegan" and call Jessie a moron.

Oh, come on, people. Just because I'm a humorless, nit-picking, longwinded blowhard doesn't mean those are prerequisites to post a review. Short reviews of the kind posted earlier in this thread are good, too, and are more likely to be read.

Reviews matter not only in giving a potential reader some sense of a book outside of the publisher's/author's self-description, but, I gather, matter algorithmically as well. It's kind of a pain of the computer age in some ways, but I do tend to pay attention to testimonials if buying something off the interwebz sight unseen. And for what it's worth, Amazon has the book for $8.99 at the moment.
