Moving to the U.K.
Hey, folks,
Kate just came bouncing up the stairs, in a cute pleated skirt. But that's beside the point. The fun part is that she was waving the latest edition from the Ragged Raven press. And it contains a poem you may remember, Ribbon Dance, which I wrote last summer and workshopped here on TDE. Over the last few weeks we've had quite a run on that side of the pond. Maybe we should load up the truck and high-tail it over there...
Joking aside, it's a very nice issue, well laid out, well printed. The only other name I recognize is Angela France, who's on the facing page from Ribbon Dance, and whose name I think I recognize as sometime Sphereian?
It's nice to hold it in my hands, if only for a little while: it's destined to be shipped out to California, to the dancer who inspired the poem.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill
You can be assured you would be welcome, and surrounded by people with great taste and discernment!
Well done.
Never heard of Ragged Raven, and this is a small island (as Bill Bryson observed).

Philip,
Thanks for the welcome!
I'm pretty sure the workshop thread has been pruned, since the discussion was in July. To perhaps jog your memory, here's the dance that inspired the piece:

Walter and Cantor will be bitterly disappointed to hear that it's four six line stanzas of unrhymed pentameter!
Just teasing...
Thanks,
Bill

I remember liking that poem a lot, Bill. Congratulations. It's a well-merited publication on any side of any pond.

Until fairly recently they produced Iota magazine. Their most recent publication is an anthology. I recognise a few of the names (Roger Elkin for example used to edit Envoi and has published a few books). Ragged Raven publish books too - they must have something of an eye for talent - they published Christopher James in 2006 and he won the 2009 National Poetry Competition.
