Since Rhina would be the last person in the
world to promote herself, I'll do it for her.
She has just today been announced as the winner
of the National Poetry Book Award, sponsored by
John Smelcer's Salmon Run Press. X. J. Kennedy
was the judge.
I say BRAVO !

Finally, a POET this year wins one of these prizes.

Good news indeed!

Spectacular news! Well deserved! It is a joy to see recognition given someone who not only writes so well but has been so generous toward others.

It is always a pleasure to hear that a major award has gone to a poet who is among one's personal favorites, but I would say it also bodes well for formalism and those who practice it that such an award has gone to a writer who pays such attention to craftsmanship. Congratulations, Rhina.
