Autumn Sky Poetry
Christine is taking my sonnet "Kids on Bikes" for the upcoming art issue. It is an ekphrastic--the subject is a David Park painting of the same name. Park, the dean of the Bay Area Figurative Art movement of the 50s and 60s (closely related, actually, to the Beats), is a hero of mine, and I'm very glad to get this one out there.
It was here once. Thanks all.

I'm rapt to hear this, Rick! That's one of my great favourites of yours. Can't wait to see it again! Amazing how vivid it remains in my memory!
I made my first ever submission to this ekphrastic edition. Rejected! I don't think I'll ever find the - is it courage? - to submit poems 'out there' again.
But my little nonevent is more than made up for by your achievement! I love Autumn Sky - so beautiful, real quality.

Congrats Rick
Autumn Sky is one of my favorite online journals. I look forward to reading your piece there.
A bit of trivia, Autumn Sky was one of the first pubs to take a piece of mine. But I think it would be one of my faves anyway.

Congratulations, Rick - always great to see an ekphrastic poem succeed! They're hellish hard to do.

Congratulations, Rick. I look forward to the issue as well.
Cally - don't be too hard on yourself. Considering only ten poems are selected for each issue of Autumn Sky, I imagine the acceptance rate must be quite low. (At least that's what I told myself when I recieved my rejection for this issue!) Keep sending your wonderful poems "out there"
Tracey
