Default And now, direct from the frozen North...

Hey, folks,

The latest issue of Permafrost arrived today, with my Resurrection Fern tucked safely within its leaves. The journal is housed so far north they can see the Arctic Circle from their offices! The poem is actually about a very hot and humid moment on the Gulf Coast, so it's fitting it appears in such a cold environment.

Looked through the table of contents for other Spherians, and though I didn't find any, I did find Lisa Lewis, a colleague from my time in Texas. Apologies if I've missed anyone...

Thanks,

Bill

What's not mentioned in this or (many) other publishing credits is the impressive number of fine poems you've managed to write, Bill. It may be part of a routine you don't notice much any more, but the output shows your commitment. So: congratulations, but also, your work ethic is an inspiration.

Ed

Thanks, Ed. Actually, Kate thinks I'm a terrible slacker. "If you can write two a day for two weeks, why not three a day? How long could it take?" Of course, Cynthia called Propertius a sluggard, so at least I'm in good company...

David, Martin, Cathy, Thanks! Janice, you made a joke a couple weeks ago that Kate's so good, she could get someone published in Antarctica! She said "Just wait, we're going north of the Arctic circle!" She was close to right: Permafrost is within a hundred miles of it. But she's still working on that Antarctic thing. If I know her, she'll find a way...

All hail Kate!

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,
The closest I got to Antarctica was on a catamaran in the Beagle Channel. A beautiful day turned suddenly blustery and we almost capsized. I hope Kate's southern dream comes true one day.....
