Default Highlights for Children

I'm very happy to report that Highlights for Children has taken two of my poems. One of them, "Colors," was workshopped here in September.

This is a magazine I used to read when I was a kid, and since it has over a billion copies in print, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one. It currently has over two million subscribers.

Thanks especially to Tim for his general encouragement, and to Rick for the thumb-up that I needed to send off "Colors" in the form I posted it.

That's tremendous, Roger! You can't do much better than a placement in a magazine so many people read, and remember with affection, and respect. Sincere congratulations.

COOL! I used to love that magazine. Congratulations!

I have a piece I am readying to send there - a rhyming sestina about a snapping turtle and a philosophical dilemma. I hope they take it.

Nice. They always fooled me with their pictures of bikes with octagonal wheels. Heh.

You and McDonald's have discovered the foolproof marketing strategy: hook them while they are young. Seriously, congratulations! I remember the magazine from my own childhood.

You've hit the big time, Roger!

I'll look for your poem in my dentist's office. (In about four years, based on the dates of his other magazines.)

Seriously, congratulations!
