Blue Unicorn -- Tice, McLean, Soderling
The new Blue Unicorn arrived today with a Sonnet by Allen Tice, a translation of Rilke's Archaic Torso by Susan McLean, and a notice that Janice Soderling is the winner of the Harold Witt Memorial Award for best poem of the previous three-issue volume.
Congrats to all.

Hurrah, Allen! Hurrah, Susan! And a double Hurrah for Janice, who wears the laurel crown!
Congrats all!
Thanks,
Bill

Good news three times over--congratulations to Susan, Allen, and Janice. I'd love to know what poem by Janice won the award.

It was "Lady With an Ermine" from the October, 2009 issue.

Oh ma god. I didn't know that.
I am falling off of my chair. Is there money involved? I am fainting dead away.
Edited in. are you sure?
Does it say Janet or Janice.

Congratulations, Janice and Allen! I am glad to hear that my translation finally appeared. Blue Unicorn often has a very long delay between acceptance and publication. I look forward to reading the issue when it arrives.

Oh, how rude of me. I was so shocked I didn't congratulate Allen and Susan, who was also in the issue where my Lady w Ermine poem appeared.
Congratulations to both of you.
Well, you can tell I am discombomulated. The previous message here was garbled.

I am sure -- page 21. It doesn't say anything about money. *

Janice -- we cross-posted, but I am not in the current issue. I am just a subscriber this time. But you can congratulate Allen.
*This is wrong information: see post further down. It seems there is money involved.

Well, I am honored to be honored. Blue Unicorn was kind to publish me back in the days of IRCs and written rejection slips. They have been one of the finest "little" magazines for decades and decades. A true labor of love there.
Thank you for announcing this, David, and apologies to both you and Allen for getting my wires crossed. I think we crossposted on that mix-up.
Does it say JanICE on page 21?
