Default Writers' Journal (finally)

Hi all,

There's a critical review of one of my sonnets, "Garden Party", in the Jan/Feb issue of Writers' Journal. Some of you may recall that I had initially thought the acceptance was rescinded, after nearly two years without any further correspondence. But indeed, it's finally in print and should be on newsstands everywhere, three years after my initial submission.

should be on newsstands everywhere,

that's what is called a mass market, Shaun. Wow!

It is an impressive achievement to have such an audience, though I don't understand the part about a review of a sonnet. Could you pls elucidate?

At any rate, it can only be good going to be in this venue so you have my hearty congratulations.

Thanks Janice!

Writers' Journal is mainly a workshop magazine for writers, and there is a section where the poetry editor takes a poem or two and breaks them down and critiques them, with the aim of educating readers about poetry techniques etc.

It's funny, because I think I've developed and improved a lot as a poet in the three years since I initially submitted the poem, and there may have been a few words I would have changed if I was re-writing it now...but indeed, it's nice to see my work on a fairly broad scale. Hopefully it can do a very little bit in getting people to re-appreciate formal poetry.
