Default Chapbook

learned today that my chapbook - Stones in our Pockets - has won the Hazel Lipa Prize and will be published by Flyway - Journal of Writing and Environment.

Just when I was about to give up on it :-)

A good portion of the poems in it were workshopped here - in fact there are at least 2 sonnets in it - so I send you my thanks.

I have been flat out sick in bed for the past week. I am just beginning to feel I may yet survive, though I am still coughing. I missed the entire sonnet bake off :-(

The news about being sick is not so good--let's hope that changes promptly!--but the news about the prize and the chapbook publication is very good indeed. Very pleased for you, Cyn.

Thanks all. I think I am starting to feel like I will survive.

Forgot to mention the prize was $$. So I am up over $500 for the year so far LOL - if I HAD a day job, I would not be giving it up.

Now to get to work and write again. I have put my energy into getting my MS's out there and now have no recent poems to send out anywhere. What's wrong with this picture?

Ooh, I think I'd tolerate a dry spell much better if I had a book coming out! The picture looks pretty good to me, and I'm very happy for you. Congratulations, Cyn.

Best,
Jean
