Is this separate from the Lucretius?

I looked at the website, found no reference to a new book, unfortunately.

Alicia: Love the archeological exploration re "Implements from the 'Tomb of the Poet.'" Am wondering if there is anything you can say about the meaning of "pure Pythagorean music"? I'm guessing and I'd like to know what it suggests to you, if it's possible to say. (If the concept is too sublime to pin down, I'll continue to guess.)

"A new collection of poems is forthcoming from Northwestern/ TriQuarterly."

In the column under her picture, bottom half.

Thanks for the announcement, Tom. It is perhaps premature, however. While the book (second collection of poems) is indeed forthcoming, it will probably be a year before it is actually "out."

Terese, I think it was the triangular shape of the harp that suggested "Pythagorean." Pythagoras also did early work in music theory--practical stuff like the cycle of fifths as well as metaphysical music stuff like the music of the spheres. I guess mostly I just thought it sounded nice.

Anyway, I'll certainly give folks the heads up when this comes out. (Or you can write to Northwestern to be on their mailing list.) As yet, the title is still up in the air.

Mostly I'm glad the book found a home without going the contest-submission route.

Alicia:
This is something to look forward to, and I think your title ("Still up in the Air") is enchanting: "As yet, the title is still up in the air."
