David Mason is in the latest issue of Hudson Review with the first part of his verse novel, "Ludlow"... Almost 40 pages worth. Hell of an accomplishment. I've just skimmed it, came a few hours ago, but it's remarkable.

Congratulations, Dave! Can't wait to get my copy. Hudson Review is the top journal I have a subscription to.
Say, did anyone else submit poetry for the Hudson Review New Writers issue? Anyone heard back on it yet?

Yup, I got a rejection about two weeks ago. No news is good news! Best of luck, Steve. And congrats to David!

Haven't heard a thing, myself...

eidt: Has anyone heard they have been ACCEPTED? Be typical of my life if I hear neither. Virtually all the poetry I ever submitted received no rejection slip. Only exception is one from Christian Wyman.

Me too. Mine came back like the next day, lol. It was like they couldn't wait to be rid of it.

Well, I'm still at least somewhat expecting that rejection slip (oh, maybe half and half now), but I think at this point, even if I do get rejected, I won't be too bummed, knowing that more accomplished poets like Julie and Susan had the same result. I know the Hudson Review is a tough nut to crack.

Sheesh, listen to us LOL. The "Congrats, Dave!" thread has become the "Where's my rejection slip?" page...
CONGRATS, DAVE!

Congratulations, Dave........way to go!!!
(I, too, was rejected about a month ago....at least I am pretty sure I was. <g> I got back my submitted poetry, but that's it....not even "nice try, Monkey Girl, try harder")
Ah, well....
Nice to hear about Dave, tho. Always nice to know people actually DO get accepted....even nicer when you know it is well deserved.
