I hope it's not too obnoxious to share this appeal for sales from U. of Notre Dame Press, the publisher of my second book
Lives of the Sleepers (2005). As promised in the heading, the collection received the Ernest Sandeen Prize and a
ForeWord Book of the Year gold medal.
If you like Dante, Petrarch, Eurydice, Lewis Carroll, Hitchcock & Vincent Price (in his
House of Wax role), you might enjoy it--they're all sources for (or characters in) the poems.
Through August 15th, a copy costs only $5 if you enter the sale code at checkout (NDEOVR11; then click "Update" to see the $5 price appear).
All the info (straight from today's publisher's e-mail) is copy/pasted below. And, for your convenience, so is a link to the book. (Note: the posted poem "First Thaw" used to be in blank verse till the text got crowded by the webpage.)
If you end up taking a look, there are lots of other great books (poetry and poetry criticism) well worth considering, too.
Thanks & have a great August, Ned
