"peterjb" (Peter Bloxsom), a member who hasn’t been seen here much of late, has won second prize in this year’s Iambs & Trochees Poetry Contest .

Hearty congratulations, Peter! I look forward to reading the poem.

Peter has made smart, well-designed sites for several Eratosphere members including myself — details of his very reasonable service can be found at his site, www.netpublish.net — and some of his own poems and short stories are at http://bloxsom.netpublish.net .

I don’t know anything about the First Prize winner in the Iambs & Trochees contest, Andrew Sofer, or the Third Prize winner, Henry George Fischer. They’re not listed as members here, at least not under those names.

Henry

Peter,
Warmest congratulations.

You have worked away in the shadows with enormous dedication and your high standards and unselfishness are well known to those, like me, who have benefited from them.

I am immensely happy that the excellence of your work has been recognised on such a serious level.

(Thanks Henry for letting us know.)

It's an honour to know Mr BloxSom. (I forgot the S for Success)
Janet

Congratulations, Peter! Cool prize.

The websites you design look a damn sight better than the Iambs & Trochees site, I must say.

Many thanks, Henry, Janet, Steven, Mark, Stephen, Robin.

I've been short of time to hang out here much in recent months, but I expect I'll be back before too long. I appreciate the good wishes.

Peter

Congratulations, Peter! I look forward to reading your winning poem. (And yes, the I&T website sure could benefit from your other talents.

Many thanks, Rose. Yes, the I&T site could do with a sprucing up!

Btw I noticed a while ago that Andrew Sofer (First Prize winner) was showing as the newest member here. I followed the link to his profile and thence to his website. Very nice work there -- all metrical, and some winners of earlier prizes in competitions, not all of which, I believe, were for metrical verse specifically. So maybe things are looking up and metrical work has more chance these days in the "open" competititions.

Peter

Hi Peter!

Excellent work. This is a nice accomplishment. Good to know that you believe you will back here again soon. All the best to you.
