I am happy to announce that Dos Madres Press in Loveland, Ohio, will publish
Soutine, my book-length poem on the artist Chaim Soutine, by some time early next year. I am also happy to report that the Princeton University Art Museum liked the flying forward one-and-a-half somersault pike I performed at their request well enough to let me use this familiar self portrait of the artist on the cover… for a very low price indeed!
Thank you all for the input on the sections I brought for critique. The carcass of beef got a real work-over here, as did Anna Akhmatova. Your thoughts and advice were carried forward and applied throughout what may well be a 200-page poem.
Dos Madres is a wonderful small press for poetry that recently published David Katz’s
Claims of Home. David will be launching the book at Carmine Street Metrics on November 6th—see General Announcements.
A section of
Soutine is in the new
Raintown Review, and Book One, Chapter One will be featured at
The Nervous Breakdown on November 12. Meredith Bergmann hopes to run the Carcass of Beef online at
American Arts Quarterly in the weeks ahead. All of these sections were critiqued here and thereby improved.
Thanks again,
Rick
