A couple of days ago I received an acceptance from Blue Unicorn, of my translation of "Obra Humana" by José Asunción Silva. I want to thank Roger Slater and VictoriaGaile, who provided useful and perceptive comments when an earlier version was up on the Translation Board.

Congratulations, Mark. I don't know how long it will take for your poem to actually appear (I had an acceptance of 2 poems from this journal about a year ago, and to date they have not appeared). I guess this is normal (?).
Best regards,
Catherine Chandler

Julie, thanks, I'm definitely happy about it. I only started translating a couple of years ago, and this was my first translation submission. I do plan to post some more on Translation, so hopefully I'll see you there when my next draft is ready for scrutiny.
Catherine, thanks. Their 2005 Poet's Market entry says they have about a one-year backlog, so maybe you won't have to wait much longer. I've waited several years for some magazines in the past, though, so I just figure it takes as long as it takes. I'll say this, however: they deserve credit for their response time to my submission. It only took about a week!

Congrats, Mark. I've waited up to a year for journals that accepted my work before, too...better than those places where the years turn into forever.
