Today's mail brings official word that the 2006 Richard Wibur award goes to... Richard Wakefield (our middle initials are the same, too, so this award seems to have been fated). The judge was Timothy Steele. Tentative date for publication of the award winning manuscript, "East of Early Winters," is October. The award also brings a thousand dollars, which triples my lifetime poetry earnings.
Many of the poems were workshopped here, and all have been published somewhere or other -- Light, The Formalist, Iambs & Trochees, Seattle Review, Tampa Review, Sewanee Review...
My thanks to all of you for your support, advice, and encouragement.
RPW (the other one)

That's super news, Richard, though I suspect not a soul here will be the least bit surprised. I'm very glad your work will be available in one handy volume, since I often remember your work without being able to lay my hands on it. Kudos!

Bravo! Wow! Great! Congratulations, Richard! (You've encouraged me to search for major literary awards with my initials.)
