It's true, four poems by Dave Mason and two by Rhina Espaillat in the current Hudson Review. Any one of the six all by itself would be worth the price of admission.

Not to detract from Dave's and Rhina's, but Bill Coyle appears in this issue, as well, with two very nice poems. From the time I found him in the Phoenix anthology, he's been a favorite.

Congrats to all, and I've gotta note that Bill and Rhina are Powows, and Dan Tobin - also in the issue - was a Guest Reader earlier this year. The Hudson Review is top rank - one of the most difficult journals to get into - but it definitely has to be included on form-friendly lists.

Rhina, David, Bill, and Dan--

Congratulations, a sweep! I hope to read the poems soon.

I think when I moved, I forgot to tell Hudson to send my subscription to the new address. Damn! I'll have to order another copy. Congrats to all!

Rhina once despairingly confided to me that she despaired of ever publishing in the Hudson. Persistence! And congrats to David and Bill. Everybody needs to read Bill's new book.

The review of Alicia is truly a highlight of the issue. I just got back from vacation and picked it up. I was also surprised and delighted to see a poem of mine in the August 4th TLS, one that had also appeared in Measure. As for fans of Bill and Rhina, I'm with you.
