New double issue of Light Quarterly arrived today, with at least eleven poems by Susan McLean, Stephen Scaer, Marion Shore, Alfred Nicol, Richard Wakefield, and Tim Murphy. Erato rules. We nearly lost Light this winter, and I'm happy to see John Mella back in the saddle.

And a few more if Edmund Conti is included, as he should be, he is a member here, if an infrequent poster.

Edmund is a masterful epigrammatist and a fine practitioner of Light Verse.

My congratulations to all, a truly good issue.

Tim:
Thanks for posting this. I hope it promps a few more people to subscribe to Light or to, if they're already subscribers, to buy gift subscriptions as Christmas gifts. The magazine has been a wonderful venue for formalists; now it needs support.
Richard

I'm in there, too (my first time), along with two very funny formalists I met at West Chester '05: Melissa Balmain and Bruce Bennett.

Edmund Conti's brother-in-law has a bookstore in Fergus Falls MN, which accounts for my once having received a delightful letter from this very senior poet. Julie Kane, I apologize for having missed you. EVERYONE! Help Mella out by subscribing and buying gift subscriptions. I don't know how many Spherians have had the honor of being the Featured Poet at Light, but just a quick review of the soft disk that passes for my brain turns up Gwynn, Stallings, Wakefield, the Hayes, Murphy, Sullivan, Etc.
