Orwn Acra won! Congrats to the anagramatic Walter Ancarrow, and other Sphere runners-up. I just received the e-mail announcement, and can't find a web link, but here's what I received:
The 2012
X.J. Kennedy Parody Award
We'd like to thank all of those who submitted to
Measure’s inaugural X.J. Kennedy Parody Contest. We had a huge number of inventive, funny entries, and we’re pleased with the enthusiasm with which the contest seems to have been received. The winner and four finalists are listed below, and their work will appear in Volume 7, Issue 2 of
Measure, which should be out in early winter.
The deadline for next year’s contest is March 1, 2013. The winner will receive $500, and both the winner and finalists will be published in an upcoming issue of
Measure.
Winner:
Walter Ancarrow for “Sea Dirge”
Finalists:
Mike Alexander for “Imitations in Hell”
Melissa Balmain for “Al Gore’s Ode on Global Warming”
Paul Buchheit for “The Reagan”
Gail White for “Annabel Lee”
