Default Jerome Betts in New Verse News

Whimsy makes the news! The fourth stanza, especially, cracks me up in Jerome Betts' somewhat gruesome but always fun 'Advice for an Ancient Survivor'.

It's like a leveraged buy-out!! (Just joking, James P. )

Jerome, I love it. Thanks again, vigilant Agent Ed.

Thanks, Ed and Janice. The gaps between lines in S1 and S3 are not me trying to be typographically trendy but presumably some digital quirk.

Amazing how this story keeps . . . er . . . surfacing. I remember the photo of an alleged rhomboidal flipper in the 70s and Sir Peter Scott's painting. People must need it.

Whimsy, Ed? You mean you missed the societal angst and the cosmic-cum-evoutionary sub-text? Really! Slightly regret evicting Rupert Murdoch, though. Not sure if Alex Salmond is known your side.

The gaps referred to above have now disappeared, so, as I thought, one of those cyberspatial mysteries.

I love the word 'gammoned', which I'd never heard of before -- though I hadn't heard of Alex Salmond either, I'm chagrined to say. Ignorant Yank, that's me.

I'd guess that 10% or more of NVN poems have been penned by Spherians of late: perhaps all those Drills and Amusements are paying off.

Best,

Ed
