After not submitting for a while (the fall's batch, with the exception of one poem in the Shit Creek Review, having come up snake-eyes), I actually hied me down to the post office (across the street, more or less) and stuck some stuff in the mail. No, it's not that much of an accomplishment, but really, some days I do wonder why I bother.

Whoa, Quincy, it's a great accomplishment! Sending the stuff out is at least half the battle. Congrats!

Good work. How did Woody Allen put it? Something like, "90% of life is just showing up" ...

Congratulations, Quincy. Doing the foot-work necessary to submit poetry is tedious and exhausting! People think poets don't work (Yeats put this so nicely in "Adam's Curse") but we work harder than about anyone else. Keep it up.
Damn it, at least you have something to submit! My muse has been anemic lately and I've run out of poems.

David--
Well, I'm not running out of poems, in large part, because very few of them are getting taken lately. I'm not exactly setting any world records for prolificity, either, at the moment.
Janet, Nemo, Marion, Wendy--
Thanks for the encouraging words. May the spring go better than the fall where submissions are concerned!

Prolificity? Sounds like a Bush-ism!
