Unsplendid is finally up, with many names familiar to folks here (Geoffrey Brock, Greg Williamson, Mark Jarmon), including two fine pieces by Jennifer Reeser (and a couple of things by me too). It seems like a very interesting venture, and worth a read, not least the editorial welcome letter:

www.unsplendid.com

PS--since I have renounced my moderator superpowers, maybe some kind soul can correct the spelling on the topic heading?

A magazine that does not live up to its name.

I've spent some time reading it, and I'm impressed. Alicia, I love your Pluto poem. Pluto broke my heart since I have a poem that depends on there being nine planets, and I can't find a way to fix it.

Lots of good stuff. It was great to see some new work by Jennifer, as well.

I'm dashing out now, but have got to take more time with this not unsplendid issue. (And I've fixed the thread title.)

Thank you for the link, Alicia. Good luck to all concerned. Looks intriguing and I will enjoy stopping by, I'm sure. I am taken with the nonce definitions. It's a particularly nice welcome mat for those such as myself who are far from on top of this whole metrical business. And it does strike a lesser found balance on the visual end too. Terrific layout. Looking forward to viewing some submissions, God and time allowing.

Best

Nick

I haven't read the whole issue yet, but "Sabbatical" is beautiful and brilliant. I also liked Mark Jarman's poem - yes, that's exactly how it feels sometimes.

And the layout is nice and clean, not bandwidth-hoggy. I like that.
