Paul Stevens sent me a link to this:
http://education.guardian.co.uk/high...262320,00.html
The mention of my essay is very brief, and it's neither complimentary nor damning, but just the fact that they cited it, and linked to it, I think is great. I'm referred to as a "commentator." Whoa! Get me! I'm a commentator! LOL.
Poor Paul. SCR only gets to be an "organ."
p.s. I meant to post this in Accomplished Members. Can someone move it there? Sorry...

That's cool, Rose! But no real surprise - that essay made waves!
I don't know that "commentator" is an appellation to get excited about though. It sounds a bit neutral to me. An appellation like "brilliant and incisive commentator", now that would be very nice.

Rose, It was a laudatory mention, since readers who link to the review will see that you treat the word in the same gingerly way he does. Incidentally, the Kirkup poem was mentioned (not by name) in an article in the LA Times today about England abolishing its blasphemy law. Yer obviously on the cutting edge here, way to go.

Kudos, Rose!
And kudos to SCR. I can see the banner headline now: "The Shit Creek Review: Poetry's Fastest-Growing Organ."

Rose you're one of the best and most constant "commentators" I know and the Grordian has risen to the occasion. To be mentioned in the Guardian is close to beatification. It's wonderful news. The Shit Creek Review is vindicated. It's an edgy name filled with edgy people. Long may the light shine on the Rose of Shit Creek

I do like that article of yours, Rose.
Well done The Guradian, sorry, The Grauniad, for finding it.
Best regards,
David
