The new issue of First Things just reached my desk and should be on newsstands shortly. Eight poets in this issue, picked by Paul Lake, including a slew of Eratospherians. The list is:
Maryann Corbett, "Prophesying to the Breath"
Mark Jarman, "Drinking Stars"
Timothy Murphy, "Wisdom 13:5-9"
Frederick Turner, "Missing Mass"
Robert B. Shaw, "The Better Part of Valor"
Samuel Menashe, "Safekeeping"
Joseph S. Salemi, "Charity's Gift"
R.S. Gwynn, "American Crust"
A great selection by Paul.

Thanks for this announcement, Jody.
I hope I'm allowed to say I'm just blown away to be on this list, and I can't wait to get my copy.

I used to subscribe to First Things but then got tired of the heavy religous rap all the time. This will be an occasion to buy a single issue.
Congratulations to everyone. They do publish high quality poetry--as the list of those being published amply illustrates.

Maryann, you absolutely belong in the company of Murphy, Gwynn, Jarman, and Menashe (to limit myself to those poets whose work I know and admire). Congrats to you, to them, and to First Things.

I send work to publications based on the company I know I'll be keeping. But even by First Things' standards, this is an exceptional list, and a lot of poems. Maryann is a natural for FT, and so is Rose, who will be joining our merry band very soon.

Heck, I'm impressed by this bonanza of poems myself. This issue of First Things is practically a poetry magazine!

I just got my copy of First Things, and it has an extraordinarily good selection of eight poems. Congratulations to Paul and Jody. Herding cats?
