I found out this weekend that my essay "Dante, Orpheus, and the Poem as Salutation" was accepted for publication by Temenos Academy Review in London.

Andrew, is this the essay you gave us an extract of in a GT thread? I remember we were several who asked you to tell us when it was published and where.

I'm not sure it was this particular essay, and I cannot locate the thread, (or the printout I made then--too many stacks of papers in my office)--no matter, the title tells me that I will enjoy reading it.

I was glad to learn of your acceptance and also to make the acquaintance of this publication. It is a very particular segment of British letters that is represented at this forum--writers whom I recognize from my old copies of Agenda--which incidently had a tribute issue for Kathleen Raine in 1994 that was my initial introduction to her work.

Hearty congratulations.

Thanks, Martin and Janice. I remember that issue of Agenda, Janice. The former editor of Agenda, William Cookson, had ties to Temenos Academy and lectured there from time to time.

The essay that Temenos Review took isn't the one I mentioned earlier -- that was a piece I translated, by an Italian Jungian analyst, which is currently in search of a publisher.
