The new issue of First Things just shipped with two short poems by Mike Juster and another by Ralph McInerny--to say nothing of the review by Rhina Espaillat of the new translation of the Locas Mujeres Poems of Gabriela Mistral.

The world of poetry would be much better off if more reviews were written by writers who understood the language of the text being translated. Rhina, nicely and professionally, makes the violence done to the original text of the Mistral translation very clear in her review.

Yet again, she is a great role model for us all! (and good judgment, Jody!)
