After unanticipated production delays, my collection—The Bard Double-Dactyled [Morningside College Press, $10; 75+ pp, perfect bound]—is finally available: 15 Shakespearean plays and 18 nursery tales recast into 223 double-dactylic (or double-amphibrachic) stanzas, with nary a single six-syllable word repeated. A handful of these have appeared on the Sphere over the years, to such responses as (shameless promo alert): “What a great poem! [signed] (green with envy)”; “Your two epic dactyls are magnificent”; “…hard to beat Jan’s submission here! WOW!”; “Wonderful stuff!”

Some of these verses have appeared or are forthcoming in Kiss and Part, ed. Gail White [Doggerel Days], Light Quarterly, Umbrella Journal, Folly, and Poetry Revolt. Contents:

You can order through Morningside College, which will add charge for postage + handling, or if you prefer, send me $10 and I’ll send you a copy and pay postage (US addresses only). Unfortunately I have no accommodation for currency exchange, but will send to those overseas who send US funds and add $3 to help offset int’l postage. PM me for details or with any questions.

Many congratulations, Jan! I’ve admired your work here over the past few years. About time you had a book.

Can you provide a link for Morningside College Press?

Henry

Thanks to all of you for your generous and most appreciated comments. I have responded individually via PMs where appropriate, but to address Henry's question:

Morningside is a small college and does not publish many books, but anticipating possible interest from Sphereans outside the U.S., I have asked the college bookstore if they can handle international orders via credit card. The situation has never arisen for them before, but they are checking into it, and as soon as I find out, I will let you know the details.

Jan
