The 8th Annual (how time flies!!!!) West Chester University Poetry Conference is the only conference focusing on meter, rhyme and narrative, and it grows larger and more successful each year. Although the economics of attending are difficult for many of us despite the scholarships, I encourage anyone who can attend to go. I met Tim Murphy and Alan Sullivan at the first conference, and subsequently met many Eratospherans there, including Paul Lake, Alicia Stallings and, of course, our fearless leader Alex. This year's keynote speaker is Nina Cassian (who I must confess I know little about), the prosody award is going to Paul Fussell (who should be fascinating), and the Dream Team of New Formalism is once again teaching the workshops. For more info, go to wcupa.edu/_academics/sch_cas/poetry. This year's dates are June 5-8.

Mike J,

There seems to be an error in the link given. Maybe you could give more information such as fees, etc.

Paddy

i went to west chester for the first time this past summer. it was an amazing experience. i got to meet a lot of great people and got to hear some great readings. any one who can attend should. what was real good for me was being surrounded by like minded people, especially since i live in southeast texas, and there isn't much of an artistic community here. i'll be there this coming summer. regardless of cost, i wouldn't miss it.
