Dear Eratosphereans,
She’s been acting in the shadows in this capacity for a some months now, and she’s ready to perform live. Yes, it’s my pleasure to announce Maryann Corbett as the new Eratosphere Administrator.
"Maryann Corbett grew up in northern Virginia. She holds a doctorate in English from the University of Minnesota and has worked for 26 years as an editor, indexer, and in-house writing teacher for the Minnesota Legislature. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in some two dozen journals in print and online, including Atlanta Review, Measure, The Dark Horse, First Things, The Barefoot Muse, and Umbrella. They've received Pushcart and Best of the Net nominations and, most recently, the Lyric Memorial Prize. Her chapbook Gardening in a Time of War came out in 2007 from Pudding House. She and her husband live in Saint Paul, Minnesota."
Maryann has been an asset to the Sphere and, generous with her overflowing skills and intellect. I urge everyone to lend her your support to make writing, reading and surfing at the Sphere an even more stimulating and productive experience.
Join me in giving a big Eratosphere welcome and congratulations to Maryann!
Cheers,
...Alex

Excellent. Alex is right--you've been doing this job for a while now, Maryann, and you've got all the skills needed for it. Congratulations.

Thank you, folks. Now that I know exactly how much I'd miss this place if I didn't have it, I can say with even greater conviction that it's a privilege to work with you all.

Maryann, your gracious way of setting me on the right path when I first blundered in here, and your mediating abilities which I have witnessed since, tell me that the right (wo-)man has got the assignment.
I'm not sure if I should congratulate you, or the rest of us.
Best
Janice
