Default Powows among Nemerov winners!

It is my joy and privilege to announce that the 2008 Howard Nemerov Prize winner is our own Stephen Scaer, and that among the Finalists are Bob Crawford and Midge Goldberg, also members of the Powow River Poets!

Go, guys! Congratulations, and well deserved!

Congratulations, Stephen, Bob, and Midge! Those are at least three poems that I am sure I will enjoy reading in Measure.

Isn't that wonderful!

You guys and gals will go to history, like the Fugitives and the Imagists and the Beats.

The Powwows. Wow.

Congratuations to all three !

Congratulations to all, and since Rhina is too nice to brag, I'll be the one to point out that Stephen is the third Powow winner in a row - Mike Juster last year, and Bob Crawford before him. Wow!

Congrats everyone, especially Stephen -- judged by Timothy Steele, no less.

Cantor mentions three in a row, but I think Powows account for something like eight out of fifteen Nemerov winners, right? Spherians make up at leat twelve of the fifteen (I don't know all the names as well as others here.) In any case, the Powow River Poets and Eratosphere are both clearly thedominant producers of top-notch sonneteers. Way to go!

Is there a full list of the short-listers anywhere?

And congrats, Stephen.

Congratulations, Stephen, Bob, and Midge - tho, I prefer to regard you all as citizens of the Sphere and Powows by nationality, perhaps. And it was the esteemed Timothy Steele doing the judging this year - a man who knows a sonnet. A triple honor!
