Default The Opposite of Cabbage

Just a note to say that Rob Mackenzie, aka Winter, is launching his first full collection, The Opposite of Cabbage, tonight at the Scottish Poetry Library in Edinburgh. The book is published by the groundbreaking indie press Salt, who also publish (among others) me.

I am currently on the train (with wifi!) to Edinburgh to go to the launch, so it is all very exciting. I first met Rob here on Erato about five years ago, and look where we are now - sharing a publisher!

It's a great achievement on Rob's part: he's writing fabulous stuff, the book is splendid, and Salt is a wonderful publisher to be with.

Terrific news! He has shared some memorable work with us, and I am pleased to hear that he has a full-length collection coming out. It sounds as though it is getting quite a launch.

Thanks very much, Katy. Also thanks to Susan, Wendy and Gail.

Gail, people have offered me many answers on what the opposite of cabbage might be - in the book, the opposite of cabbage is a wobbly cyclist, which may make sense only in context!

I've written a report on the launch, which was great fun, and it was terrific having Katy up for it. Here it is: http://robmack.blogspot.com/2009/03/...f-cabbage.html
