Default Essay on translating Martial in Amphora

My essay on translating Martial's epigrams, which was published in Amphora, the newsletter of the American Philological Association, is now available for free in PDF at the address below:

http://www.apaclassics.org/outreach/...Amphora7.2.pdf

The essay is on pages 4-5 and includes a few sample translations.

Congratulations, Susan. Poet and critic is always a good combination. I will have to find a copy of that journal.

Fine essay, Susan, and I greatly enjoyed the epigrams quoted. If you don't mind, I'll put a link to this thread on the Translation forum - also because the Forum is languishing a little at the moment.

Fascinating writing, Susan. Great to see your working process in action.

I do hope you'll run some future work past us in the Translation forum.

Best wishes
Adam
