Hearty congratulations, John. I can understand that the judges had a hard time.
I recently bought Robert Burns' collected poems, because I got tired of having to search through anthologies when I wanted a particular poem.
Well writ, John!

Doesn't the Poet Laureate still get 100 pounds a year and a butt of sack?
Congratulations to John!

Thanks, all. It's not the Nemerov, but, with over 27,000 people recorded in the site's toast tally, there's probably a good audience. Our Beaton Family & Friends Supper is among them. The list of toast locations is quite a testament to Burns' popularity.
Yes, Slainte math's correct, Janet. It's often abbreviated to "Slainte".
Bottoms up! (Gail, I think this is what the Laureate says when he's drinking from the butt of sack. And congrats on your Bake-Off win.)
John
