Default Poetry Bonanza

The new (May) issue of First Things (now on the stands) is richer than usual in the number and quality of its poems. There are excellent poems by (ahem) Richard Wilbur, Timothy Steele ("Caesar for a Day"), Alicia Stallings, Dick Davis, Michael Juster, and Joseph Awad.

We're lining up some good stuff for the next issue, too, so stay tuned for more great poetry.

I've moved this here, since Paul's the poetry editor of First Things, and I'd say this news counts as an accomplishment on his part, as well as being good news about members and friends of the Sphere.

Thanks, Maryanne, Kevin and Chris. It's nice to pull some big tasty fish from the sea and share them with a-fish-ianadoes.

I'm thrilled to be a minnow swimming in the wake of the tuna.
