Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine...
I don't normally grouse about acceptances, but I was quite tickled by one I received today from Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine for a sonnet of mine entitled "Femme Fatale." It's not exactly a regular market for poetry (indeed, I just noticed that Duotrope has no history for the genre)...but for me, that adds to the charm!
I'll also have a rhyme royal entitled "Lady Of The Night" in the third issue of Think Journal -- a poem which was workshopped here a year or so ago (to some insightful suggestions...mainly from Poochigian Aaron).

Ellery Queen is a neat little coup. Hats off for that one and for the follow-up one as well.

Thanks Janice -- it looks like a few other Eratosphereans have made it into this month's Think Journal as well, including Jennifer Reeser as the featured poet, T. S. Kerrigan, W. F. Lantry, and probably a few more that I'm missing.

Geez, Shaun, you're not supposed to let the cat out of the bag until the thing actually appears! Oh, wait... does this mean it's out? Cool! Of course, I never believe it until I can actually hold the thing in my hands...
This is neat, in the same pages with you and Tom and especially Jennifer... a good day for the 'Sphere, even if I don't really count yet: I'm still just a newbie round these parts...
Thanks,
Bill

Neat! Also April Lindner is a member who is in this Think line-up.
Now I have looked more closely at the mag and I am still thinking it is nice for all who are published there. But Ayn Rand?
Does anyone still read Ayn Rand? OK, not to highjack this congratulatory thread. That question belongs in another thread at GT.

Nice hit, Shaun -- Ellery Queen is no small potatoes, especially for the rare poetry appearance. And Congrats to Shaun, Jennifer, Tom, Bill, and April for Think. The Sphere's sphere increases again.

Kudos, Shaun. That is a unique publication to get a poem in.

Just bumping this up to say that the issue with my poem "Femme Fatale" in it is now out. I quite like how it was presented -- it's the only poem in the issue, and it gets half a page, but is white text on a black background, alongside a silhouetted figure.
This magazine (March/April 2010 issue) should be on newsstands and in bookstores pretty much everywhere now.

Shaun-
Congrats on this one. A nice, unique market for the repertoire.
