Default Light Quarterly

I see that no one has mentioned the latest Light Quarterly yet, so here goes: Spherians in double issue 64-65 include: Mary Meriam, Marion Shore, John Whitworth, Leslie Monsour, Max Gutmann, Melissa Balmain, me, & maybe some that I've missed.

Light is just about my favorite poetry journal in the world. And don't forget, as the year's end approaches, that contributions to the Light Quarterly Foundation are tax deductions!

I say, am I in the dashed thing? It'll take an AGE to get over here. Oh well.

I enjoyed reading through the issue. Though it is uneven, most of the funniest moments are from 'Spherians.

Oh yes. John Melia sent me one but I don't know what I did with it. I have this filing system like a Venus Flytrap. Nothing survives it. But 'Natural Selection' is a jolly good poem, though I do say it myself, the two halves written at a year's distance, which is the way Larkin wrote his great 'Whitsun Weddings'. Nice to be like Larkin in some way.

Oh well done all. I just never remember to read or submit to Light because it is so far away but one should. Well done you funny people.

Funny people are the best people.

Congratulations to all of you. I so admire those who can write successful light verse. (Actually admire is the polite word, envious is the honest one.)
