If I sound like I'm quoting the Song of Songs, will that make this announcement more interesting? I'll wait until the morning of Saturday, 8/2, to prune the three poetry boards. Translation has been slow, and I think I'll leave it out this time, but if there's a thread there you want gone and it hasn't had activity for 30 days, let me know and I'll remove it.

I just want to say that I happened to be there this year for the Pruning of the Threads, and when those great beasts come charging down the narrow Boards, poets and critics fleeing before them, well it makes Pamplona look like a kindergarten.

Heh. Well, it doesn't feel QUITE that exciting in actual practice, which is probably a good thing.

I've heard it's so good, people actually come rejoicing, pruning all the threads . . . .

Really? I thought the threads just shrivelled up and fell off the boards, I didn't know they were raisin' hell.
