Sites like Able Muse / Eratosphere do not occur on their own. A lot of work is required by the site, and there are a lot of bills to pay (software licenses, hosting fees, security updates, hours of technical and user support - paid or do-it-ourself, etc.) ... so, much time and resource needs to be committed to the site.
