Dolores
Hayden
is the author of several award-winning books about American cities
and suburbs, including Redesigning the American Dream: The
Future of Housing, Work, and Family Life. Her poetry has
recently appeared The Yale Review, Southwest Review, Crab
Orchard Review, and Michigan Quarterly Review. Her chapbook,
Playing House was published by Robert L.Barth in 1998; Line
Dance will appear this month. In 2000 she won The Writer/Emily
Dickinson Award from the PSA. She lives in Guilford, CT and teaches
in the School of Architecture and the American Studies Program at
Yale.
