Welcome to the millennial issue of Able Muse. The premiere issue
has been well received and with this second volume, we are continuing
the tradition of finely crafted metrical poetry, non-fiction, art, photography, and fiction.
Fiction is a new feature in this issue. Another new feature is the
chat page where visitors can engage in a lively literary chitchat in
real time. The chat page nicely complements the literary forum, Eratosphere,
which has become very popular of late, regularly featuring outstanding
posts and critiques. Although we still feature light verse, we have decided to do
away with the explicit labeling. We leave it up to you to decide what is
serious and what is light.
On the technical side, we have also updated the website making it
easier, and more fun, to browse through, read or listen to. While the site
now uses some advanced browser features, it has also gotten friendlier
to the lowlier browser like Netscape 2+ and IE 3+. Thus, we're
now, at least, readable to die-hard web surfers still clinging to these outdated
browsers.
We have also made a welcome and capable addition to our staff: Beth
Houston, our premiere issue featured poet, has joined us as Associate
Editor.
I cannot conclude without giving my special thanks to our featured poet,
Leslie Monsour, who is not only a wonderful person who brims with talent,
but is a sheer joy to work with. And my thanks also to all the
contributors for your excellent writing and artwork. And thank you all
our visitors for your comments and support. With your help, Able Muse
will continue as a showcase for talent, bringing you the highest caliber writing and artwork anywhere, on or off-line.
Sincerely,
Alex Pepple
Editor.
