A Poetry Sporadical of Repeating Forms

Halloween Bully

by Lois Elaine Heckman

Quit your harassing,
passing
me when I come
from
my trick-or-treating jaunt,
aunt to aunt.
You want my goodies but you can’t
have them, for I’ll toss them ’round.
I’d rather see them on the ground,
passing from ant to ant.

Lois Elaine Heckman grew up in Los Angeles, receiving a degree in Italian from UCLA. She now lives in Milan, Italy, where for many years she was a volunteer nurse and first aid instructor for the Italian Red Cross.
