A Poetry Sporadical of Repeating Forms
My hair would make a pretty blaze,
a signal flare atop Mount Zion
burning for a thousand days,
outdazzling Venus and Orion.
A signal flare atop Mount Zion,
avatar of light-pollution
outdazzling Venus and Orion,
the full moon’s sudden diminution.
Avatar of light-pollution
blotting out the Zodiac,
the full moon’s sudden diminution
sending shivers down my back.
Blotting out the Zodiac,
Virgo, Libra, Capricorn,
sending shivers down my back:
Suppose I never had been born
because the sign of Capricorn
was darkened for a thousand days?
And if I never had been born
I couldn’t set my hair ablaze.
