A Poetry Sporadical of Repeating Forms
She says she’s seen a ghost in the kitchen.
But what’s she holding? “What’s that in your hand?”
Behind her I swear that I hear something.
I have noticed some things have been missing
ever since she got out of rehab.
She says she’s seen a ghost in the kitchen.
Night terrors from her desvenlafaxine
were the only side effect that she’s had.
Behind her I swear that I hear something.
It’s midnight—what is it she’d be fixing?
Is that a knife she’s holding? “What do you have?”
She says she’s seen a ghost in the kitchen.
There’s a presence like there’s something within
the house, the kitchen, the stairs, her, the hall.
Behind her I swear that I hear something.
She says, “Quiet, I need you to listen.”
The sound’s like silence being cut in half.
She says she’s seen a ghost in the kitchen.
Behind her I swear that I hear something.
