The Nile

If you are a reptile
A monitor or crocodile
I recommend the Nile.
Submerge yourself awhile
With a toothy smile.
Since before the time of pharaohs
In the river’s depths and narrows,
Reptiles have wallowed.
People have been swallowed
Egyptians first, then tourists followed.
In the Valley of the Kings
Are scaly things.
If you are a reptile,
Come and stay awhile.
